Keith Urban Pays Tribute to Merle Haggard
Keith Urban will be performing at the All for the Hall concert on Tuesday night which is billed as a benefit for the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. Keith Urban and Vince Gill will showcase musical diversity at the concert. Urban said that it would also be a tribute to country music great Merle Haggard, who died last Wednesday on his 79th birthday.
He said, "it was no surprise that a lot of artists contacted me and asked if they could flip one of their songs to do a Haggard song. It's a beautiful honor, and we're going to see a lot of unexpected song choices from his catalog."
Urban will be performing together with an all-star lineup to Nashville's Bridgestone Arena for the 6th time since 2009. Stars will include Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Peter Frampton, Emmylou Harris, Sam Hunt, Jason Isbell, Chris Janson, Tracy Lawrence, Maddie & Tae, and Maren Morris.
Urban first saw Haggard perform live back in the '90s at the iconic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.
