Happy Birthday Miranda Lambert!!

Country music superstar Miranda Lambert from Tishomingo, has earned a platinum hit with her emotional ballad “Over You.” Earlier this week, the Recording Industry Association of America certified the single platinum for selling 1 million downloads.

The chart-topping hit, which Lambert co-wrote with husband Blake Shelton, last week earned the Country Music Association’s song of the year honors at the 46th Annual CMA Awards.

The couple penned “Over You,” the second single off Lambert’s 2011 album “Four the Record,” in honor of Shelton’s brother Richie, who died in a car accident 22 years ago.

Lambert wept openly on stage at the CMA Awards as her husband related how his father, Dick, who died earlier this year, urged the couple to pen “Over You.”

The Band Perry have released their latest single, "Better Dig Two,"

The song has gotten positive reviews with several critics, including Kurt Wolff of CBS, who compared it to "the bluegrass of Ralph Stanley and Bill Monroe, or the more haunting side of such Americana stalwarts as Neko Case and Gillian Welch."

The Band Perry's sophomore album is set for release sometime in 2013 and will be produced by Rick Rubin (Johnny Cash and ZZ Top).

Band Perry to perform a new song at 2012 CMAs

The Band Perry will debut a new song at 2012 CMAs that will air live from Nashville Nov. 1 on ABC. "Excited to play new music on #CMAawards" Band Perry tweeted. They have been working on a new album that is expected to be released in spring 2013.

Faith Hill will also sing her new single "American Heart" at the Country Music Association Awards. Tim McGraw will also perform new music from his album.
